2nd day of Ryder Cup Tournament. Was on the Black team. Partner was Paul F. First day was alternate shot and 2-man scramble so no score entered/recorded. We won 9-2 yesterday. (Each team scored a point for a win. No points for a halve.) We were down 2-0 after 6.
Today was play-your-own-ball match play, but again, scored 1 point for a win of the hole and 0 points for a halve. We were down 6-2 after 10 holes. We tied the match on 17, 7-7. Halved 18. Overall, Black team trounced the White team, 148-102. A fun event. Really enjoyed it.
Played fairly well. Got in trouble on 15th, as usual. Hit drive into bunker and then tried to make a hero shot with hybrid and instead hit the lip and fell back in, right up under lip. Needed wedge for next shot, but tried to move it 80 yards and instead, caught the lip again and fell back in. Ended with a triple. Thankfully we halved the hole anyway.
Was a little disappointed with chipping and a few bad putts. Driver still not great. Best drive was a pull draw into hazard on 8th, yet the longest drive of the foursome. It's in there, just have to figure out how to get it out on the course on every drive, like I can do on the range.
