Overcast. Colder than it has been. Started on 10th with a bird after driving the ball left of left side fwy bunker. 7i from rough to 15' and made putt to start off with birdie, again. Driver was not as down the center as usual, but for the most part I stayed playable with it. Got in trouble on 2nd with big draw into hazard. Never had a chance. Had to take penalty drop from real far out, where I crossed the hazard markers, which left me 170 out. Hit 5i from rough where I dropped with ball above feet. Played it to draw some, but it surprised me and went straight, pin high, but on a huge mogul to the right of the green with the ball well below my feet. A tricky flop was required, of which I kind of pulled off, but still could not stop the ball from rolling well past on the super sloped green. This set the tone for a string of bogeys on the front (my back nine). Snuck in a couple pars and had a realistic birdie chance on 7th after hitting 8 iron to 7 feet, but missed and settled for par. Hit more greens today but far fewer fairways than usual.
