Cold, mid 40s, max. Very windy. Played with Richie. Had on too many layers, but it was necessary. Had to wear two golf gloves today. Not so much for the cold as for all the splits in my skin on my fingers as a result of the cold dry air. They are extremely painful, particularly on follow-throughs. Glove helped a little, but still could feel some splitting more on many swings. Ouch. For tiny little cuts, they hurt like hell.
Just as yesterday, was not expecting much of a score. Surprisingly, kept it in check. Knew it was going to be nearly impossible to reach many greens in regulation due to the wind and soft conditions, so made up my mind to just accept it and only worry about making GIR +1 on those. Ended up with no big blow up holes or doubles and better off than most everyone else I spoke with after the round in the bar. Missed a very makeable birdie putt from 7 feet on 16. Another, though a little longer on 6th . Greens are now pretty bumpy, furry, and covered in leaves and those annoying helicopters. There is no such thing as a putt holding a line when they get involved. Putted pretty well, again, otherwise.
Probably my last round at OG as a member, unless they are still open when I return to CT in December, after the Florida trip. Won't expect much in the way of conditions, even if they are open. Today is the last day to post GHIN scores. At least it was a decent one to end the season.
