Colder than I was expecting when I teed off. Overcast. Didn't have it today. Iron play was atrocious at times, compared to the way I have been hitting them since the new AP2s. Never got in a groove. Must have hit 3 or 4 shanks today. Surprised the hell out of me every time. With short irons no less. Because it was an out of season round, I played a couple balls and retried many shots that I screwed up. Often screwed up the second try as well. Coming off such a great ballstriking round on Monday, I was not in the right frame of mind after putting my 1st approach from 115 out on 10th (started on back) into the water, albeit on a bounce off the side slope on the right side of the green. With my favorite club, 9 iron, no less. Pissed me off and got me started off on the wrong foot. Partially shanked my PW approach on 11th into high crap off back right of green. I knew then, it wasn't going to be a good day.
Right elbow tendinitis started to show it's ugly head part way through the round. Right shoulder acting up too. Iced both when I got home. Maybe I have been playing too much. Maybe need a break before Florida trip next week.
Funny, I hit the ball well on the range. No indication of shanking irons and driver was spot on. Golf's funny that way. I'm not laughing.
