Played with three older, VERY SLOW MOVING gentlemen. One was in his late 70s, the other two were 81 and 85 respectively. They played from the front tees. Took nearly 5 hours with no one in front of us. I was ready to put a gun in my mouth. As a result, I played poorly, more so as the round went on. By the back I was getting so frustrated with the pace of play of which OUR group was playing, I just lost focus.
The Bermuda grass gave me fits as well. I could not seem to hit good clean shots with my longer clubs off the fairway. And chipping from the Bermuda rough was no picnic for me today either. Really should have spent some time getting used to it like I normally do when I get to Florida.
On the 4th or 5th hole I had a nice approach into the green with a short iron, but my left thumb re-split badly as I came through the ball. I thought it was healing nicely over the last few days, but it just tore right apart again. Tried to tape it up the best I could, but it was too torn to get it closed up and I kept tearing it on nearly every iron swing. I'm sure that didn't help my game.
This is the worst I have played this course in the last few years of playing it when I am down here.
Icing right shoulder now, but everything needs it.
