Low 70s, cloudy with thundershowers in the area, but none came through.
To sum up today's round in a word, atrocious.
Played the blues, which were back on most tees. That was the first mistake, though the whites were too short. Many were up on the red tee box. So instead of being emasculated by playing the shorter tees, I was emasculated by being the shortest driver in the group by 20 yards.
Tried to get that little extra instead of just swinging easy. Got me in a lot of trouble, virtually slicing ball with no distance, trying to keep up with other, more powerful drivers in the group. Had a few drives that went so far right, I couldn't reach with my approach shots using a 4W. Had to hit way too much club on many approach shots. Started off the first tee with a weak fade (after hitting 5 or 6 perfect little draws on the range) leaving me about 200 yds in. Then put a poor swing on 4W approach. It went downhill from there. The worse I played the more tense I got. Consequently didn't have my good swing for most of the round. Only hit a few good shots today. I can remember every one of them there were so few. It even affected my usually solid short game. Couldn't wait for the round to be over. Not much of a Merry Christmas round.
