Rain threatened. About 55 degrees. First time out after 10-day lay off. Shoulders started out okay but right one was irritated by 9th. Played the back nine. Easier to walk. Wasn't going to play since I haven't practiced at all in the past 10 days. Was going to practice only. Couldn't resist. Went to the car to put a few clubs in my walking bag and decided to put all 14 in and go play instead. There was an opening on the back so I jumped in between two foursomes. Never waited, no one waited on me. Forgot to bring a rangefinder or GPS which resulted in hitting a few balls very well, but either long or short of intended target due to guessing wrong on the distance.
Swing was pretty much in tempo. Was using a new swing thought which really helped with solid contact all day. Hit a great 5 iron off the tee on 17 to about 6 feet but missed the birdie putt. Same thing earlier on 15, with an 8 iron to 6 feet, but 2 putted.
Was encouraged after playing so poorly my last few times out a couple weeks ago. Wonder how long this swing thought will work.
