Went out alone, late in the day Sunday, after working on driver set up on the range for about 45 minutes. Was crushing the ball on the range so decided to play the blues with hopes it would continue. It didn't, though driver really didn't get me in trouble other than making approaches a lot tougher. With the exception of the 6th hole, where I hit a hybrid off the tee very well, but had a nice draw I was not planning on. Drew into the water, pin high, 20 yards left. Penalty. Ended in triple. Ouch. Otherwise, not much different from a white tee round except for the longer approaches. Hitting greens much more difficult. On 9th hole, drive didn't quite reach short grass. Ended up in the deep rough. But, the lie seemed gettable with a 3W. So, trying very hard not to overswing, I think I hit the longest 3W I have hit in years...and from the deep stuff. I measured it on GPS to be about 240 yards. Talk about a flyer!
Caught up with a bunch of groups who went out an hour before me, so decided to call it a day after nine. Wasn't in the mood to wait and shoulders were both pretty sore. Iced both upon return home. First time in 5 or 6 rounds I had to ice, but considering I had played 5 of the last 7 days, and hit 40 or 50 drives on the range before the round today, not surprising they were sore.
