Continued to hit driver better and irons sharply. Hit a few more greens than yesterday, this time, expecting the draw and playing for it. Went thru the green a couple times, then chipped on, but did not get up and down. Easy chips I just hit a touch too hard, sending me by 6-10 feet each time.
Got in trouble with hybrid 2nd shot on par 5 5th. Ball below feet, sliced it right of bunker into deep crap/hazard. Had to take unplayable/penalty. On 12th hole, hit great 3W off tee to end of fairway, then hit 5W from downhill lie across the long forced carry over wetlands. Hit it well, but pulled it a little, into the deep bunker 10 yards left of the green on the steep slope. Got out with no problem but didn't have quite enough on it to reach the downhill green surface. Chip from rough rolled past about 10-12 feet. 2-putt double. Hate wasting good drives.
Course is getting a little burnt with this long spell of 90*+ heat and humidity everyday for the last month or so. Landed in some browned out, virtually bare spots in the fairways. Haven't seen that since I started playing here last year. For the most part, the course is still in great condition. Heavy rain and t-storms hit just after holing out on 18. perfect timing. Good, really needed, drenching. Still pouring 3 hours later. Cart Path Only for sure tomorrow.
Mostly satisfied with play today. Still left a few out there.
