Awesome back nine. Wish I could have played the front, but it was jammed. Started on front, from the blue tees. Hit good drives on the first three holes. Started to play the third with a good drive and 2nd shot layup right where I wanted it. Waited for 10 minutes to hit my approach. We could see the course was all backed up. Seemed strange at this time of day. The group in front of us could not hit the ball. Any of them. They offered to let us go through, but the groups in front of them were packed up solid, so it was pointless. It was 95* and humid. Found out later that a few of the other area courses just aerated. So everyone came here.
So, we decided to bag it. As we passed the 9th there was no one on it, so played it. Bogey. Then when we got to the clubhouse, the 10th was open. So decided to play the back. Played the whites. Started with a great drive and a 9 iron to 3 feet for a birdie. On 2nd, another good drive and a 50* wedge to 8 feet and made the putt for back to back birdies. Ran into another slow group, but after 2 birds, I just had to grin and bear it. Wasn't stopping now. Pitched 3rd shot on 12th to about 5 feet, but two putted for bogey. Then 3 GIR pars in a row and a nice up and down on 16 to save par. 6i off the tee on 17 to about 6 feet and lipped out birdie putt. On 18th approach bounce on and off green to right. Nice pitch from the rough to 5 ft, but damn, I missed the easy putt. Could have been under par for the back nine for the first time ever.
