Started with a pull draw off the first tee, but was playable. Hit it well actually, just a little left. On second tee hit another good drive. Then another on third. Driver was working. Had an easy 60 yard pitch after layup on 3. Hit it great, but rolled off back. Thought it would be perfect, even when it landed, but it just kept rolling up and off the back. Chip and two putt resulted in first double of the day. Good birdie on 7th. was between PW and 9i, but felt the better miss would be short. So went with PW. Actually went 4 yards past pin. (Glad I didn't go with 9i.) Made straight, downhill putt, dead center.
Nice par on 10 from left fairway bunker. Actually, it was a very good drive. Hit 8i from bunker to about 10 ft.
Should have been a couple strokes better, but blew 18th after a perfectly good drive and good 5W 2nd shot into center rough between left and right side fairways. Easy PW, but caught a flyer which went over the green and rolled down the slope behind the green to a few inches off the cart path. I had a stance on the cart path, so though I could take a free drop, I did not have a place to drop on that side of the path without getting closer to the hole. There was no room on the other side of the path. So I figured best option was to play it from where it lay and just stand on the cart path. Caught it thin and bladed it 75 feet past pin. 3-putt from there ended in double. When I was standing over my original PW approach I was already writing down a par in my head. I hate screwing up simple shots.
