Score was okay. Swing was not. It was more than a tick off today. Couldn't find my rhythm. Felt like Elaine Bennis of Seinfeld, doing her infamous dance. Hit a bunch of weak shots, not only with driver, but irons too, which has not been the case lately. Was not feeling in sequence on many shots today. On the 17th, after hitting another fade/slice off the tee, I realized I just wasn't staying connected. So, on 18, hit a pretty good drive that went through the fairway, a very good uphill 3W second shot, and then a great 9 iron approach to 2 feet, leaving me an easy birdie putt. Wish I realized my problem much earlier in the round.
As bad as my sequencing was today, I did make a few good swings and play a few good holes. After hitting the first two greens in regulation, I played the tough par 4, 3rd, exactly as I planned. Layed up to about 50 yards, then pitched a 58* wedge to 6 feet and got down in one for par. Par, par, par to start should have gotten me off on the right foot. However, we spent too much time waiting, once we caught the 4-some ahead of us on the 4th, and it really screwed up my rhythm. The more we waited, the worse it got. Still, had a few good holes. Missed a 6' birdie putt on 14 after a pretty good drive and a 50* wedge to 6 feet. Had a poor 7i tee shot on 15. Hit it off the toe and came up woefully short. However, chipitched a 50* wedge from about 30 yards to a couple inches and a tap-in par save. Decent drive and 7 iron approach for GIR par on 16. And then the bird on 18. Unfortunately, a lot of weak swings in between.
