After playing the blue tees lately, playing the whites today seemed much more comfortable. Hit a decent number of greens today after only hitting 5 in the last round from the blues.
I hit about 200 chips during a short game practice session yesterday, virtually all very good. Yet today, I chunked one which I haven't done in a long time. Go figure. Cost me an easy up and down on 10th. I hit my 9i approach to the back pin on, over, and a few inches into the rough. Easy 58* chip. Was thinking I could hole it for bird. Instead, somehow, I chunked it and barely got it two feet onto the green. Still can't believe it. Shitty bunker shot on 11 (which I should not have been in in the first place), barely got out. Chipped from rough and made the putt to save bogey, but bogeys on both 10 and 11 hurt my chances for a really good score. Hate bogeying either of them, let alone both.
Made some good putts today, and some not so good. Irons were good, driver okay.
Another double on the 3rd. Hit a good drive and decided to go for it. Pull cut a 5W which just caught a few leaves on the tree to the left front of the green. Was maybe 6 or 7 yards short of green. Uphill chipitch came up well short of the pin. 3 putt cost me. Double.
On 9th, saved par after a poor 5W 2nd shot, with a 54 degree wedge and a great downhill putt from 15 feet.
Decent round, but could have been much better.
