Not feeling well, but needed to get out there after skipping yesterday.
Driver was okay, but not as good as Saturday. A little off. A little weak, but no real bad drives. I did take a 2nd drive on 5th after hitting first one okay but too low on face, just trying to see what I did wrong. Though it didn't count, it was far worse than the first drive I put in play, which I was able to play into a GIR par.
Had trouble on the 9th after an okay drive in the fairway, but a weak sliced 3W second shot. Hit 3rd shot approach from rough, about 168 out with 5 iron, over the green. Ball nestled down in rough onto bare hard pan, in a severe ball-below-the-feet lie. Almost impossible to get under it. Surprisingly, made good contact, but didn't quite get it to the green. Another chip was necessary. 2 putt double.
Then on 10th, faded drive into right fairway bunker. Should have taken more club to get to green. Ended up short. Rolled back into water. Penalty drop. Pitch short. Chip. 1 putt double.
Played the next hole well. Then on the tough par 4 12th, hit a good 3W, leaving me about 165 to the hole. 5 iron just short of the green. Putted from off green and nearly sunk it, but it continued rolling about 12 feet past pin. 3 putt bogey.
Approach on 14th almost went in. Needed 6 inches more. Nice bird, but was looking like an eagle.
Played 9 iron on par 3 15th. Should have played 8i. Came up 1 foot short of clearing bunker. Ended in bogey.
Nice GIR pars on 16 and 17. Should have birdied 17. Hit 6 iron off the tee to 6 feet.
Okay round, but left a lot of shots out there.
