Was worried about left shoulder before starting, and once I started became more concerned as I immediately noticed tenderness after the first hole. However, it never seemed to get much more tender. Ended up playing about 21 holes, plus hit many extra practice drives and approach shots after my scoring ball was played. So it got a pretty good workout. Will ice later to be safe since I am planning to play tomorrow.
Didn't feel in sync for the first few holes, but eventually found some sort of rhythm and began hitting some decent shots. One of the best shots of the day came after a poor drive on the 10th, leaving me on the black tee box of the 14th tee. 2nd time in a few rounds I ended up over there. Had about 120 to back pin, completely over the lake/hazard. There was a course worker on his knees fixing something on the green about 15 feet left of the pin. When he finally saw me waiting to hit over on the 14th tee, he waved me in. He moved off the green over to his work cart and waited. I hit a 9i over the lake bouncing once in front of the pin, hit the pin and ricocheted off about 12 feet. Very satisfying shot. The worker was impressed. When I arrived at the green he said he could have just stayed where he was working. Great shot.
I wasn't into the round as much today as normal. I guess it was partly due to the unfortunate fact that it was the first "out-of-season" round since March.
I am nothing if not consistent with my scoring of late. Another 81. Getting boring. On the other hand, if I scored better I'd be pissed since it was out of season and I couldn't post it.
CeeBee says:I thought today was the last day for scoring? Not bad .
