Played with Will and Joey. Colder and windier than expected. Wind played havoc on my distances. Started on the back.
Game was not on as much as it has been. Nothing terrible, just not sharp. I'll blame the wind, and the bad shoulder a little too. Didn't feel too well today. With the exception of a really poor F'up on 15 and the typical double on 12, the back could have been damn good. All pars with 2 doubles. Missed 2 or 3 make-able birdie putts on the back.
Front was okay. Should have been better. Made some poor swings with clubs I usually count on for consistency. Laid up on 3rd, as usual, then had an easy PW to pin. Got it a little thin and ended up pin high, but right of green. Saved bogey, but should have had a realistic putt to save par.
Ground was wet and muddy, more so on the front, and got in my head on a couple short pitches, which I got thin. One on 2, another on 5. On both holes, I hit the approach shots what I thought was well, but due to the wind and cold, both came up short and collected into very wet areas.
On 8th, hit plenty of club, or so I thought, yet ball came up short in bunker, surprising me. When I hit it I thought it might be long. Wind was in my face, so took 2 extra clubs and still came up short.
Nice finish on 9th with a longer than typical approach, due to not getting my layup far enough. Had 138 to pin. Always plays a little longer here with a downhill lie. Hit the 7i approach near perfect. Landed 10 feet above the hole. Had a tough slider putt, which I read well, but just missed and settled 1 foot by. Nice par finish just the same.
Shoulder not good today.
CeeBee says:Not bad in less than ideal conditions. I briefly thought about getting out there but figured tomorrow might be better.
