Ugly day. Overcast, raw, damp, foggy, misty, about 49 degrees. Forecast was for a bit better weather. So, more people out there than you might think on this dreary day.
Started out okay. Nice 9i approach on the 2nd to about 3 feet and bird. Missed a few other realistic birdie opportunities on 10, 12, 16 and 18. All of those approaches were under 18 feet. And on the par 3 6th, my 6i tee shot landed 10' short of the green. I hit a perfect 54* chip, which would have gone in had the pin been out. It hit the pin, rolled around the edge of the cup and stopped an inch from the hole. No pin and that chip goes in. It was perfect speed. Still don't know how it didn't. Had 3 3-putts on the front which really made the difference between a very good scorecard and an excellent one.
Back nine was damn good, even though I had a couple less than stellar 5W shots. On 12, Had about 180 to pin, and a forced carry. Got it a little fat with my 5W and consequently, landed it well short of the green on the edge of the steep downslope, where it proceeded to roll all the way down. Thankfully, hit LW to about 15 feet, but missed the save. Bogey on that hole is a good score. Made up for it with a 9i off the tee on 15 to 1 foot for kick in bird. Did not realize I played the back so well until I got home and added it up.
Tees were up again, but I played the 18th from one of the back tees so that I had a forced carry. Hit it well, then a nice 3W and PW to 12 feet. Wimped out on the birdie putt and settled for par.
Hit irons well, fairway woods so-so, driver good. Two rounds in a row hitting 13 of 14 fairways. Still have not lost a ball in months.
Icing left shoulder now.
