Awesome day. 70+ degrees, light breeze, near perfect. Hooked up with big bomber, Anthony, a nice, young 20-something, who I pretty much blew away all day, though he outdrove me by 40-50 yards on most drives (even though he rarely found the fairway). He must have lost 10 balls. I bounced one off the green on 10, and into the water hazard for a total of one lost ball, and it was on a nice approach which just took an unfortunate bounce.
I played extremely well. Even better than my score would suggest. Driver was as good as I can remember. Really been working on shallower path with driver and it is paying off. Hit some of my longest drives in awhile. Played from in between the whites and blues. Ballstriking--driver, fairways, hybrid and irons--was great all day. Can only think of one full shot with 6i from rough just off fairway that I did not hit with much authority, leaving me short of green on the 4th. Got up and down anyway.
Birdied 13 2nd day in a row. I think my drive on 18 from the upper tee box was my best ever. Couldn't have hit it any better to any more advantageous spot. Hit 5W up the hill from there to 50 yards out. LW in from there and just missed the bird. Had many birdie looks today, actually. Should have made a couple more, but no complaints. Also hit one of my best drives I can remember on 7th, clearing all fairway bunkers and landing on the down slope past the ridge, a SW out.
As good as my game felt today, so too did my left shoulder. It did not really act up much at all. What a surprise after 27 holes yesterday. Icing now, just the same.
