OFFICIAL B2B ROUND
Weather: PERFECT! sunny in the low 70s with not much wind
Course Conditions: slow/wet in the front, faster in the back
Other Golfers: Jon (Birthday Boy), Joe, Matt
Jon needs some more "Rando" in his life. The latest Major Champion had a decent front 9 but then realized he was playing with Joe, not Rando.
Joe had a pretty good round with his +7 net score. He has a new preshot routine, NO WARMUP SWINGS! It definitely worked for him, he hit a lot of shots pretty solid. His par putt on the 6th was nice, but his 20+ foot putt on the 8th for bogey was even nicer! Oh, and I think he was 5 for 5 from greenside bunkers.
Matt has developed this sick draw. Once he straightens it out, it will be deadly. His monster drives on 7th and 10th were picture perfect. His 2 pars on the back 9 were nice too.
Basically, my round was pretty solid for my standards after not playing since the last Major @ Berkshire 3 weeks ago. Not one, but TWO BIRDIES! AWESOME! The 30 foot par putt on the 7th hole gave me some confidence, but I still had my Birdie 2 Bogey holes on the 9th and 11th. The birdie on 12 was a respectable 25 foot putt, and the birdie on 16 was only because it was a par 5 easily reachable in 2. I was hooking the crap out of my ball, but made a slight adjustment - leading to confidence with my DRIVER (not my 3 wood)
Ok, back to reality - back to changing diapers, late night feedings, and missing golf.
Oh, and damn that was some SH** with the dramatic finish at the Open Championship. I feel for Adam Scott, but Ernie Els is a class act and definitely deserved the win!
