weather: a cool end to September first tee in the mid 50s, but warmed up nicely to partly sunny and 70 with not much wind
course conditions: still crappy with leaves and aerated/wet greens, but a little better than last weekend
other golfers: ahj, jay kwock, and yosh
the game: $1 SKINS!
golf is so much fun, but even MORE fun when playing for money... we started on the back 9... yosh was running late so he joined us at hole 12 (3) it was one of the most enjoyable rounds of golf mostly because of the stakes involved, and we weren't even playing for much money! i'll get to that...
ahj and jay kwock are crazy long... their drivers FLY... i can't keep up with them... yosh had a solid round... he was able to avoid major disasters and played his game
my positives of the round:
1) 3 wood found the fairway a few times
2) a nice GIR at hole 15 (6)
3) par train to end the round... which was huge...
ok... so we played $1 per hole skins... ahj wasted no time and grabbed the first 2 skins.. then yosh came and i think won the next 3... jay kwock grabbed 2 before the first 9 holes, too... and then we get to the 17th hole (8 for us) and proceeded to PUSH every hole until the end... i was very dramatic, we were all nervous, but damn was it fun!
i was fuming after my blow up hole at 6 (really hole 15 for us)... but then i came up clutch with 3 up and downs in a row, with respectible 7-10ft putts each hole... YEAH! FUN! took away some money from yosh, he had those last ones in the bag... gift wrapped...
that last hole was technically worth $44! haha
from now on, I will always play for money... it is so much more fun... individual skins, best ball, fourball, scramble, team skins... whatever... i wanna try it ALL!
