Played with Will and Joey. Cooler start, but got warm by back nine.
Played well again. Drove the ball nicely. Started with great drive on 1st and PW to 8 feet. Lipped bird out. Good drive on 2nd and nice approach for GIR. Only 15 feet, yet 3-putted for bogey. The sand on the aerated greens was wet after a night of rain, and really messed with the speed and direction. Putts fell off line in the morning as they picked up sand on each roll. It was really hard to play for all the sand each putt would pick up. Got me a few times today on what should have been relatively easy birdie putts.
Parred both 3 and 12 today. That's an accomplishment in itself. Unfortunately blew up on 7th after hitting approach into front bunker then catching all ball and flying it well over green. A decent pitch and two putt for double. Worst hole of the day.
Made nice approaches with very realistic birdie opportunities on 1,5,6,9,10,11,14 and 18. Some as close as 3 feet, the furthest no more than 12 feet. But, the sandy wet greens made putting, even the short ones, a joke. 8 realistic birdie ops and didn't make a single one. Other than that and one other bad 5i approach on 4th I hit real fat, it was a good round. Tees are back in position, but I continue to score. Feels good.
Shoulder okay, but icing now.
CeeBee says:You have it going on. Every day in the 70's. Torching that place. Come on over to Poolesville. The greens are perfect.
