65* and Sunny. Nice day. Played alone later in the day, so decided to work on some new swing elements and try a bunch of different shots I wouldn't normally try in a round. Used 50* for chipitch shots instead of my normal 54* in most cases just to get more comfortable with the lower loft and to compare release distances. Tried some shots with clubs I would not ordinarily use in those situations, just to see what I should expect. Consequently, played the round as a practice round. Other than a couple shanks using a new, stronger, early wrist set with irons, the move worked very well with longer than normal distance. The shanks surprised me. Not sure what made them happen, but I'll figure it out. Drove the ball pretty well after fitting/lesson on Thursday. Switched out my Aldila Rogue reg driver shaft with a stiff, Diamana 60, which I hit pretty well. No loss of distance, and the ball seemed to jump off the face more. Didn't hit as many fairways, but everything was certainly playable.
Greens are still quite bumpy and inconsistent. Had some trouble trying to figure out speed. They are not putting true either right now. Two 3-putts was good. Could have easily been many more without some luck. I gave myself 2-3 footers due to how bad they were rolling, as well as the fact that it was a practice round. Don't know if it was my imagination, but the greens seemed worse today than they have been. They still need a couple weeks of healing before I would think they will be rolling nice.
Shoulders were BOTH very sore and uncomfortable today. Iced both heavily afterward.
