We started on #16.
Foggy and then a nice sunny day (80 degrees, not much wind).
Course was very soft and played long. Greens firm but generally one could stop a well hit ball. Really fast with lots of subtle slopes and breaks.
Putting was an issue early with two 3-putts on the opening three holes. Then I settled down until #5. Perfect drive followed by a slightly short 7 iron, leaving what I thought was a simple little 5 yard pitch from a grass bunker. I hit it on the green and it curled to about 7-8 feet of the hole, then it began a slow odyssey down the sloped front of the green, off the green for several yards, stopping just short of the fronting hazard. Crap! I chipped it up on the green, stopped, and then rolled back to my feet. I finally took a putter and blasted it up the slope, followed by a 2-putt. Hit my only poor drive on the next hole into the hazard on the right for a double. Time to stick a fork in me as I was done.
