Went out late, solo. So not an official score. Played the blue tees. Driver was not working well. But wind was up, so I think I was a little off as a result. Hit a few real good drives, but just as many not great. Iron play was pretty good. Putting and chipping too.
Had a few more penalties than normal. Took an extra club due to the wind on par 3 6th. Pin was at 170. Normal 5 iron, but played a hybrid and blew it 20 yards over the flag, bounced off the hill behind the green and into the drink. Penalty. 2-putt double.
On 10th, snap hook off tee leaving me a full 5i out. Hard wind pushing right to left. So started shot out over the water expecting a bigger draw than normal. Went dead straight. Splash. Penalty. Drop. Pitch to 8 feet and made the bogey saving putt.
Another penalty on 12th after a good drive. Hit 3W into wind from rough and didn't get it cleanly. Top spun it into hazard area. Penalty. Then from a poor lie after the drop, and a downhill lie, hit a 6i way right. Wasn't too surprised considering the lie. Full 58* got me on in 5 and a 1-putt for double.
Also had more bunker shots today than typical. Played most well, though was not able to score any sandies. Did make a nice shot from the right fairway bunker, onto the green in regulation on 13th. And made par.
Quite sore out there today after working all day in the yard. Plus it was my 3rd round in 3 days. Advil on tap for the eve.
