Rain and some wind. Played pretty well despite it all. Played with Bernie for most of the round, but he quit after 14. It was quite uncomfortable once the rain got a bit heavier. But I soldiered on since I had a decent round going.
Rough extremely difficult. Trouble getting a clean shot out on 16th after drive went right and sat down in 6 inch rough. Was only able to move the ball about 80 yards forward. Then took extra club for next shot which also had to come out of deep rough. With a 7 iron, was able to get out and actually land on green from only 138 out.
On 17th, hit 22*H 180 off tee to 4 feet and missed (pulled) the birdie putt.
Had driver working better today. Pressing down with left foot to begin backswing seems to really be helping timing. Bernie was a bit bummed after keeping up with my drives last week during my woes, to be outdriven by 20-30 yards today. Hit some real good ones today and kept them mostly playable. The rough was tough though.
Love my new SM7 wedges. After 4 or 5 rounds under my belt with them now, I don't miss my SM6s at all.
On first after a so-so drive way right in the fairway, but near 205 out, I chose 3W with wind in face. Hit it flush. Landed on green, rolled right to pin and hit it! Instead of falling in for eagle from 205 out, it was deflected 6 feet away and I missed the putt for birdie. Settled for par. Damn!
