No rain. Maybe a little misty drizzle at times, but stayed dry for the most part. Course still very wet and playing long as a result. Cart path only. Don't expect that to change for the foreseeable future. Expect some effects from hurricane to be here by end of week.
Hit driver well, albeit with little to no roll, so had many long 2nd shots. Irons continue to be very consistent. Had a pretty decent round going through 17 holes. Hit my drive on par 5 18th over the fairway, into the far rough. Being cart path only, I could not see the lie from the cart. Just grabbed a 3W with hopes I would have a good lie. I did not. I knew I should walk back to the cart and get a hybrid, but didn't. I paid dearly. Ball and clubhead got caught up in the rough. Though I got it out and moved it forward, it rolled through the fairway into the center island of high rough. Still had 220 uphill to get home. After the problem with the previous 3W shot from the rough, decided to give my hybrid the task. Caught it well, but not enough to get there and the expected draw from the ball above my feet never materialized. Crossed cart path short right of green. Mistake 2: Stance was on cart path, but lie wasn't all that bad. I chose to take my free drop and came up with a terrible lie sitting on wet dirt. Should have played the original lie with my stance on the cart path and not taken the drop. Hindsight 20/20. Mistake 3: Caught the ball from the difficult lie way too thin. Sent it over the green up on a high mogul. Mistake 4: Poor flop, rolled 35 feet past pin. Mistake 5: 3 putt. Only 3 jack of the round. Double bogey. Also, the only one of those for the round. Disappointing after swinging so well again.
As well as I swung, should have hit more greens.
