Warmer than expected at the start, but it got pretty cool by the end. Sunny and 60+ at tee off.
Hit the ball fairly well again. Was actually drawing the ball off the tee again, finally. My pre-takeaway hip turn was more pronounced today and I noticed my syncing seemed great as a result. So I kept accentuating the pre-takeaway turn and kept drawing the ball, though I did snap hook one on the 10th. Made a fantastic recovery shot on the approach from way over by the golf course entrance gates. I had 185 to the back pin. It was a somewhat blind shot. The water hazard from that angle was just off my direct target line to the pin on the right. Left would put me in the bunker. Had about a 10-15 yard wide window. Hit a hybrid flush out of the rough, straight at the pin. Had to run up the hill to see it fly onto the green. Unfortunately, coming out of the rough, there was no stopping it. It rolled 5 yards off the back. I decent chipitch back to pin high, but 6 feet right. Missed the par saver, but happy with the recovery just the same.
Snap hooked another on the 16th, which also ended in bogey.
My hands are all cracked due to the cold dry weather already. Hurt on every swing, bt still hit the ball better than any day last week. Two good ballstriking days in a row. Maybe I'm coming out of my funk. But two good days alone does not break a slump. All my confidence has to be back too. It isn't. Yet.
Score could have been better. But things were promising.
Cold weather forecast for the next week. Glad I got this one in. More layers = less distance next week.
