I'm used to flat courses and Laurel View is anything but flat. Most holes played down or across a valley. Green were excellent. Fairways were in good shape. I did not have my SkyCaddie so I did not know the lay of the holes. I played with a two-ball who knew the course fairly well.

My biggest "complaint" is the reviews I read in GolfAdvisor said that the back 9 was less hilly than the front 9. Well, the must have reversed them because the back was much hillier and steeper. It didn't help that it rained from 13-18.

Did I say that I was walking? I was. Steep hills, wet grass and spikeless shoes are not a good mix.

Overall, I liked the course and will play it again if I am in the area.

Pro shop staff were very nice and friendly - made me feel welcome and appreciated my business. Even though I had booked a walking tee time, they did not charge me for push care, a Sun Mountain Speed Cart - same setup as mine.

Considering the extra tough layout, the course needs to be in excellent shape to be playable. That was not the case and it needs some TLC pretty badly. For $53, there are numerous courses within 30 miles that are more enjoyable and a better value. Also, they clearly took tee times too late (8:27) considering they had a 1pm shotgun start, since the ranger rushed us around the course all day and we weren't far behind the group in front of us. It was still better than a day at work and the scenery was pretty nice.
